"id rather go naked than wear fur"

Many people ask... "How much is that fur coat" the answer should be the number of deaths rather than Rands or Dollars or Pounds or every single other currency in the world.

45 million animals including chinchillas, foxes, rabbits, bobcats, coyotes, foxes, lynx, raccoons, and wolves and minks, are killed in fur farms each year!! These animals are raised in cages in order for them to be slaughtered for your beautiful fur coats, and while they grow in these cages  they suffer from numerous behavioral and physical abnormalities. The methods used in these farms to kill the animals range from gassing, neck-breaking and anal electrocution!!

The cruelty these animals endure is ridiculous when considered, really in all honesty how horrid can humans be to not care at all about this:

And for the humans that don’t care and wear fur coats with an air of arrogance, ask yourself this, if animals had the power to do what we do to them would I really be wearing this stupid coat??

It wouldn’t be a pretty picture hey??

The way in which animals are killed for fur is beyond cruel! And sure I get it fur, to some fashionistas is appealing, great! Well wouldn’t you think if we can create skyscrapers, fast cars, laptops the size of our palms etcetera etcetera, why the hell cant you create synthetic fake fur that seems so real people wouldn’t believe you, but the slaughter houses would!... As numbers decrease in killings due to a lack of demand….

TO PUT IT SIMPLY!!!!! SCREW YOUR COATS AND GROW HEARTS INSTEAD!!

I’m saying is that we can stop this, even if its one human at a time. Say no to fur. And save an animal!

I CaLl ThEm BLOCKERS and they r COOL ;)

Here's a look into 2011's Blocker trends:)

Ksubi revealed its eyewear collection and it goes by the collection name " Eye Eye"

My fave looks from Tom Fords Fall/ Winter 2010- 11 collection... oh by the way Mr. Ford himself was the photographer for this shoot:)

xoxo

2011 trends stuck on my brain..eeeek :)

Yellow has a way of either making you go gaaaagaaa (an i mean drool) over it or making you feel an itsy bitsy sick.... 2011 is yellows year of gaaagaaa... pair it with sailor stripes or black to keep you looking trend smart:)

We have had a wintery season filled with studs and heavy jewelled embelishments... in 2011 think simple, clean and subtle as Calvin Kleins, Francisco Costa's  2011 collection has inpired a season trend of serenity.

I know what your thinking... "DENIM ON DENIM"??? In all honesty yes denim on denim is back with a Bang:) seperate the uniformity with brown leather pieces. Be glad its back, it looks fantastic!!

This is lovely, MEN keep your skinnies on and leave the sneakers at home please and if its not an option add other shoes similar to these to your collection, it cant hurt to try something new... much appreciated thank you :)

Chuck Bass isn't the only person who should be wearing bows!! Ladies oversize your bows though if you're gonna give the look a go.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY:) do the happy dance with me!! the jumpsuit stays! combat boots are insanely on trend right now, getting yourself a pair will increase your 2011 trend range.

The high waisted look that i looove love looove, hasnt gone anywhere, if you're looking to do something different with it try make it a military look rather than a dainty kinda vibe :)

PHOTOGRAPHY 101

21st Century Photography is dominated by digital operation but the older film  methods continue to serve
many users and applications, and thats because even though the price and post production are covenient thousands of pics are taken digitally and photographers now slave behind computers selecting the most amazing pics instead of standing in a dark room and watching photos come to life... i guess you could say im a tad bit old fashioned but the beauty is in the work not in the simple click of a computer mouse...

Here is some Photography terminology to get you started, or to help you pretend you know a little more than most people:)

_ composition is the plan, placement or arrangement of the elements of art in the photo, the general goal is to select and place appropriate elements within the work in order to communicate ideas and feelings with the viewer "foreground" and "background"

_Exposure refers to the total amount of light allowed to fall on the film while taking the picture, its measured in Exposure Value or e.v. with the higher values denoting more light.

_Shutter Speed is basically how long the shutter stays open for, the longer it stays open the more exposed the film is thus the sensor becomes light.

_ Photo pigments are interestingly enough found on majority of cellphones these days, like sephia and black and white or negative...

Yup now you know a little more:)

In my opinion the most amazing fashion photographers (in no particular order) consist of the famous : Patrick Demarchelier

, Steven Meisel

, Mario Testino

and the one and only Terry Richardson.

 Check them out :)

The Question is.... Has Fashion gone too far???

Vogue Italia August 2010 Issue
Editorial: Water & Oil
Photographer: Steven Meisel
Model: Kristen McMenamy
Fashion Editor: Karl Templer
Hair: Orlando Pita for Orlo Salon
Makeup: Pat McGrath
Set Design: Mary Howard

Soooo ItalianVogue decided to use the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico as a location for an editorial.... hmmm.... I LOVE fashion and agree in seeing the art in all situations, but at the same time i feel there are a some situations that need to be taken a little more seriously and thus depicted in a way that will make a movement towards change and improvement instead of using extreme environmental situations as a photo shoot backdrop which implies ........what exactly?? (annoyed face)

Sure the Fashion Industry is a huge part of the green movement taking the world by storm, so why exactly are the tools (fahion mags) of the fashion industry not following through with the "green hug a tree" thing?

Italian Vogue is huge, its not just a fashion magazine trying to make it, its made it for decades already and so should it really allow for an editorial as contriversial as this to make its mark on its pages?? I personally dont think so, and though i respect the work of the oh so talented Steven Meisel, i just wonder where does fashion draw the line? When is it not ok? When does creativity say sorry for maybe going further than it should? Should it even apologize?

BUUUUUUUT you're entitled to your own opinion about this shoot .... have a look :

Now here is the saddest part about this photo shoot.... Take away the designer clothes and you would have a shoot that depicts the harsh reality in its most honest (and horrid) form, this isnt a pretty photo shoot, it wasnt meant to be! But it was meant to sell clothes....to have them noticed..... imagine the impact this photo shoot could have had, in the attempt to show those willing to see, how the world is trully slowly dying away because of us, and how it will continue to do so untill we make a change....And if we dont does that mean we pave the way for shallow creativity to use our destruction as nothing more than fashion photo shoot backdrops... Does this photo shoot take away from how serious this matter is... does it imply that environmental disasters ok in the name of art?

Has Fashion gone too far????

The Man behin the Red Sole*****

Christian Louboutin helped bring stilettos back into fashion in the 1990s and 2000s, designing dozens of styles:). His goal, and i quote was to;  “make a woman look sexy, beautiful, to make her legs look as long as I can.”

While Christian does offer some lower-heeled styles, he is generally known for his dressier eveningwear designs embelished with bejeweled straps, bows, feathers, patent leather an so forth.

Christian Louboutin explains the inception of the signature red soles:
"In 1992 I incorporated the red sole into the design of my shoes. This happened by accident as I felt that the shoes lacked energy so I applied red nail polish to the sole of a shoe. This was such a success that it became a permanent fixture."
Today Christian Louboutin has created a luxury shoe brand that has every woman drooling at the sight of red. He dared to be different and yet ohhh soooo classic :)

Christian Louboutin has said. "I wanted to create something that broke rules and made women feel confident and empowered."

Note that the designers or creative minds that become iconic are the ones that make the effort to be totally different, totally new, and unforgettable. Following the footsteps or ideas of others could make you cool for a while, but if you want to become a classic rather than a fad, be utterly unique:)
